Playing football in a living room with glass light bulb covers was never a good idea. I was around 8 yrs old. Ball bounces on setee, off of door,then hits window. All good, until said ball,connects with foot and spirals out of control heading in the direction of expensive light fittings. I never could have imagined the sound of something shattering until it did. Smash... I think it sounded like. Took two to three hours to pick the debris from the carpet. Lesson learned?
Hell no, I put the same ball through a neighbours window 2 days later...
On both occasions, Mum never lost her temper but told me off in a way only she could, that I would learn a valuable lesson from. My Dad didn't have the same temperament.
